MatOrtho® ReCerf® is a ceramic-on-ceramic hip resurfacing system designed to preserve femoral bone while offering an alternative to conventional total hip replacement for appropriately selected patients. By retaining the femoral neck and much of the femoral head, resurfacing maintains more of the patient’s natural anatomy.

Building on MatOrtho’s extensive experience in hip resurfacing, ReCerf introduces a ceramic bearing as an alternative to metal-on-metal articulation. It received Health Canada approval in July 2026 and has achieved a 5A* rating from the Orthopaedic Data Evaluation Panel (ODEP), reflecting its supporting clinical evidence at the five-year benchmark.
